National League strugglers Torquay United have made two signings in an effort to halt their recent poor run of form.

With recent rumours linking The Gulls to various takeover bids, manager Kevin Nicholson has decided to concentrate on matters on the pitch, signing Forest Green striker Kieffer Moore and Bristol City forward Shawn McCoulsky.

United have only scored 15 goals this season with bottom side North Ferriby United the only team to have scored less. Nicholson has quite clearly decided that this is an area to improve on quickly, as his side has only scored once in the last five games.

Moore brings Championship experience to the club, having scored five times for rivals Yeovil Town, whilst McCoulsky hit the target 8 times in 12 appearances in National League South for Weston-super-Mare.

Boss Kevin Nicholson told BBC Sport “Kieffer’s proven at this level and higher, he’s a very hard-working guy and the chance for him to come here, play some football and push some of our lads was something that he wanted to do” before adding “Shawn is a young boy with bags of pace and bags of energy, he’s been knocking on their first-team door for a little while.”

Moore will be at the club for a month, whilst McCoulsky will head back to Bristol City in mid-January.
