Macclesfield Town have announced the signing of York City forward Richard Brodie on a two month loan.

Brodie, who has spent all of his career in Non League football with the exception of a season in League Two, has netted 117 league goals in a career which has seen him win promotions with Fleetwood Town and Crawley Town.

The club from Bootham Crescent have been struggling this season after suffering relegation from League Two in the previous campaign, but it seems that Brodie has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Minstermen and could make his debut for The Silkmen this weekend.

With all the problems off the pitch at York this season with the ongoing “Jackie McNamara” saga, it seems odd that the management would let such a seasoned goalscorer go, with a proven track record at the club.
