League Two promotion hopefuls have splashed the cash on National League striker.
Today Plymouth Argyle have announced the signing of Torquay United striker Nathan Blissett, in a deal worth £15,ooo. The nephew of former AC Milan forward Luther Blissett becomes the first player Argyle have actually paid a fee for since 2012.
The former Bristol Rovers forward, signed for the Gills in January of last year and was instrumental in helping them avoid relegation. This season he has scored 4 times in what has so far been a disappointing season for Torquay.
At 6ft 4in and described as a powerful centre forward, Pilgrims boss Derek Adams will be hoping he’ll be able to help with their promotion push. Currently sitting in second place and a point of top spot, the Devon based club are looking to climb out of League Two for the first time since 2011-12.
The 26 year old will is cup-tied for Plymouth’s up coming FA Cup match against Liverpool but will the number 13 shirt when he makes his debut.
