With moments to spare before a deadline to register players before tonight’s fixtures, Eastleigh signed forward Darius Henderson.

Henderson has enjoyed a varied career, playing for 12 teams before his move down to Hampshire. He joins after leaving League Two side Mansfield Town, whom he only signed for last August.

After starting out at Reading, following a youth spell at Leeds United, he went on to enjoy successful spells at Millwall and Sheffield United, which followed a season in the Premier League with Watford in 2006/07.

The 35 year old has been part of a number of promotion winning teams, and will bring much needed experience to the Spitfires front line as they continue the hunt for a play-off place.

The 6ft 4ins striker goes straight into the match day squad for the home match against second place Forest Green Rovers and will wear the number 39.
