Torquay United have signed Bournemouth youngster Jordan Lee on loan for the rest of the season.
The 20 year old right back will help fill a void for the Gulls, with the club struggling to find a natural in the role since injuries hit the squad.
Lee has only featured a few times for the Premier League side. Having made his debut in the FA Cup against Birmingham last season, he was part of the team who lost heavily to Millwall in the Third Round last weekend.
Despite not making a first team appearance in the league for the Cherries, Gulls boss Kevin Nicholson is delighted with his new signing. Speaking to the club website, he said, “He’s been flirting with the first team, and is highly rated at Bournemouth”
“He’s a specialist in a position where we haven’t had a specialist since Durrell Berry was in the first team.”
“To have someone in that position is a big plus for us. It strengthens us as a team and as a squad.”
Jordan goes straight into the squad for the game against Woking on Saturday. After conceding 9 goals in 3 games, Nicholson will he hoping his new defensive acquisition will help tighten up at the back as the Gulls look to stay clear of the relegation zone.
